I wanted to share a great review about a company I used over the weekend when my water heater started leaking. I woke up in the middle of the night to find water in my basement so had to call a 24 hour repair company which specializes in gas water heater repair in Las Vegas.
I had no choice. I had to get my water heater fixed properly right away and then I started cleaning up the mess. I searched on the internet and came across this post on a water heater blog. I called the company first thing in the morning and they came to my house and replaced my water heater. Their service was awesome and what they quoted on the phone was exactly the price I was charged.
My water heater was not that old but it was at the end of its lifespan. I was lucky that I caught it in time and it did not damage my basement. I just had to clean up the mess and try everything out and lucky it was summertime and could open up the windows to help try things out.
Water heaters are not made like they used to be where they would last 25 years. Be sure to check the age of yours. I was lucky and caught the leak before the damage massive. If mine started leaking when I wasn’t home I can’t imagine what the damage would be.
I thought I would share this situation that happened to a friend of mine who had a problem the other day with his water heater and he couldn’t find the shutoff valve. His water tank exploded in the middle of the night and when he awoke in the morning there was tons of water pouring out of his tank all over the floor.
He said he didn’t even know where the main shutoff valve was. This caused tons of problems because water continued to pour out of the tank with full pressure. Finally he found it. He said it took 15 minutes to locate the valve. He assumed there must be 20 or 30 extra gallons of water on the floor.
That caused a lot of extra damage to his home “so lesson learned” be sure to find the water shutoff valve in your home in the event of an emergency. For more information I came across this great article titled “Whаt Tо Dо Whеn Your Water Heater Starts Leaking”.
